Left superior caval vein

**Definition:** A congenital cardiovascular malformation in which there is a left superior caval vein (superior vena cava).

**Long definition:** Unless the code for absent right superior caval vein is used, this term assumes that a right superior caval vein is present and, therefore, there are bilateral superior caval veins with or without a bridging vein.
