Anomalous origin of coronary artery from pulmonary arterial tree

**Definition:** A congenital cardiovascular malformation in which a coronary artery origin is the pulmonary trunk or one of its branches. Although the most common of these malformations involves the left coronary artery arising from the pulmonary trunk (main pulmonary artery) rather than from the aorta, occasionally the right coronary artery, the circumflex, or both coronary arteries may arise from any of the central pulmonary arteries.
