Congenital hydronephrosis

**Definition:** Congenital hydronephrosis is a renal urinary disease characterised by distension and dilation of the renal pelvis and calyces secondary to various congenital obstructive malformations of the kidneys and urinary tract that can evolve to renal atrophy.
