APGAR Components

The AP entry outlines the five criteria used to calculate the APGAR newborn assessment score: Appearance (skin color), Pulse (heart rate), Grimace (reflex irritability), Activity (muscle tone), and Respiration (breathing effort). Each component is rated from 0 to 2, and the sum provides a rapid evaluation of a newborn's physiological condition at one and five minutes after birth.
