Basic Indicator Approach
The Basic Indicator Approach (code OP-BIA) is a Basel III/IV method for measuring operational-risk capital, where banks calculate a capital charge as a fixed percentage of their gross income. It is the simplest of the three approved approaches, applying a uniform factor to the annual gross income to determine the required regulatory capital.
