Entry 1E on the Commerce Control List covers technology and technical data related to the development, production, processing, use and testing of materials and chemicals, including specialized equipment, software and engineering information. It applies to items such as formulations, synthesis methods, analytical techniques and manufacturing processes that enable the creation or modification of chemical substances or advanced materials. Control is aimed at preventing proliferation of dual-use chemical and material technologies.
