Electricity generation from geothermal energy

The EU Taxonomy entry OBJ1-ENE4 defines electricity generation from geothermal energy as a sustainable activity that substantially contributes to climate change mitigation by producing low-carbon power from the Earth's heat. To qualify, the project must meet technical performance thresholds, ensure no significant harm to other environmental objectives, and comply with minimum social safeguards.
