15-Hour On-Duty Window (passenger-carrying)
The FMCSA rule for passenger-carrying drivers limits the on-duty period to a 15-hour window that begins when the driver first reports for duty and ends when the driver takes a required 10-hour off-duty break. After the 15-hour window expires, the driver must stop driving until the mandatory rest period is completed.
