30-Minute Break Requirement

The FMCSA mandates that after eight consecutive hours of on-drive time a commercial driver must take a minimum 30-minute off-duty break. This break must occur within the eight-hour period and resets the driver's daily driving clock. Non-compliance can lead to regulatory violations and penalties.
