Article 21 - Right to object
Article 21 of the GDPR grants individuals the right to object to the processing of their personal data, especially when it is used for direct-marketing, scientific or historical research, public-interest tasks, or profiling. An objection may be made at any time, and the controller must stop processing unless it can demonstrate compelling legitimate grounds that override the data subject's interests, rights, and freedoms. This provision ensures a practical safeguard against unwanted data use.
