Article 52 - Independence

Article 52 of the GDPR obliges supervisory authorities to operate with independence, shielding them from external influences and ensuring their decisions are impartial. It requires that members and staff are protected in the performance of their duties and that the authorities are free from directives from governments, private interests or any other bodies.
