Article 56 - Competence of the lead supervisory authority

Article 56 of the GDPR defines the competence of the lead supervisory authority for cross-border data-processing cases. The lead authority coordinates investigations, ensures consistent application of the regulation and can delegate tasks to other concerned authorities, while also having the power to be replaced if it cannot act.
