Article 83 - General conditions for imposing administrative fines

Article 83 outlines the general conditions that supervisory authorities must consider when imposing administrative fines for GDPR violations, including the nature, gravity, duration and intent of the breach, any previous infringements and the degree of responsibility of the controller or processor. It also sets maximum fine levels, ranging up to €20 million or 4 % of worldwide annual turnover, depending on the type of violation.
