Article 85 - Processing and freedom of expression and information

Article 85 sets out special safeguards for processing personal data when it is carried out for journalistic, academic, artistic or literary purposes, aiming to balance data-protection rules with the right to freedom of expression and information. It permits restrictions on data-subject rights only when strictly necessary, proportionate and provided for by law.
