Geological Eons/Eras

GT is the top-level unit in the International Chronostratigraphic Chart that groups Earth's major eons-Hadean, Archean, Proterozoic and Phanerozoic-each of which is further divided into eras. This classification provides the broadest temporal framework for correlating geological events and rock records worldwide.
