Ores, Slag and Ash

Chapter 26 of the U.S. Harmonized Tariff Schedule covers ores, concentrates, slag and ash, encompassing natural mineral deposits and by-products of metal extraction, as well as volcanic ash and similar materials that are not yet processed into refined metal. These items are classified for customs purposes before any further manufacturing or alloying takes place.
