Intestinal infections due to Cytomegalovirus

**Definition:** A condition of the intestinal tract, caused by an infection with cytomegalovirus. The condition is characterised by diarrhoea, fever, abdominal pain, or haematochezia. Transmission is by direct contact with infected body fluids.
