Symptomatic late neurosyphilis

**Definition:** A diverse constellation of neuropsychiatric signs resulting from prolonged untreated or inadequately treated syphilis. The protean clinical manifestations include chronic, insidious meningeal inflammation with cranial nerve palsy, cognitive and/or behavioural impairment, ataxia, stroke, seizures and visual or auditory impairment.
