Rat-bite fevers

**Definition:** Any disease caused by an infection with the Gram-negative bacteria Streptobacillus moniliformis or Spirillum minus. This disease presents with symptoms depending on the bacterial agent. Transmission is through the bite of an infected rat or other rodent.
