Meningitis due to Haemophilus influenzae

**Definition:** This is an infectious disease caused by the inflammation of the protective membranes covering the brain and spinal cord known as the meninges. It develops in response to a bacterial infection of the cerebrospinal fluid by Haemophilus influenzae.
