Invasive aspergillosis

**Definition:** A disease caused by an infection with the fungi Aspergillus. This disease is characterised by colonization and invasion of tissue by Aspergillus in one part of the body and may spread to other parts of the body. Transmission is commonly by inhalation of Aspergillus spores.
