Disseminated dermatophytosis

**Definition:** Extensive and invasive dermatophyte infection due either to a specific genetic anergy to dermatophytes or to profound immunosuppression. Dermal nodules, abscesses or draining sinuses may occur; rarely bone, central nervous system and lymph nodes may be involved.
