Emmonsiosis
**Definition:** An opportunistic infection caused by a variety of Emmonsia and Emmonsia-like fungal species. It was historically seen as a rare lung pathogen but is now increasingly reported as a disseminated infection in persons immunosuppressed, particularly as the result of HIV infection.
