Acute posthaemorrhagic anaemia
**Definition:** A disease caused by blood loss such as subsequent to trauma. This disease is characterised by loss of blood from the body leading to low levels of red blood cells/blood in the body. This disease may present with pallor, fatigue, or shortness of breath. Confirmation is by identification of low levels of red blood cells in a blood sample.
**Exclusions:** - Anaemia due to acute disease - congenital anaemia from fetal blood loss
