Non-thrombocytopenic purpura

**Definition:** A descriptive term for purpura caused by determinants other than low platelet count. This should be used for coding only when a more precise diagnosis is not available.

**Exclusions:** - Antineutrophil cytoplasmic antibody-associated vasculitis - Antiphospholipid syndrome - Drug-associated immune complex vasculitis - Immune complex small vessel vasculitis - Leukocytoclastic vasculitis - Purpura or bruising due to vascular fragility - Thrombotic thrombocytopenic purpura - Traumatic purpura
