Infarction of spleen

**Definition:** A disease caused by determinants such as trauma, infection, or inherited factors leading to a shortage of oxygen in the spleen. This disease is characterised by death of spleen tissue and loss of function. Confirmation is by medical imaging.

**Exclusions:** - traumatic rupture of spleen
