Systemic lupus erythematosus with skin involvement

**Definition:** Systemic lupus erythematosus (SLE) involving the skin. This may present with a malar "butterfly" erythema or with extensive necrolysis of sun-exposed skin, particularly on the head, neck and upper torso.
