Multiple drug hypersensitivity syndrome
**Definition:** Multiple drug hypersensitivity syndrome is defined as drug allergies to two or more chemically different drugs. It differs from cross-reactivity (due to structural similarities, common metabolic pathways, or pharmacological mechanisms), flare- up reactions (exacerbation of an existing drug allergy by the early switch of therapy to a novel drug), and multiple drug intolerance syndrome.
