Pantothenic acid deficiency

**Definition:** Pantothenic deficiency is rare: only reported as a result of feeding semisynthetic diets or an antagonist to the vitamin. Experimental, isolated deficiency in humans produces fatigue, abdominal pain, vomiting, insomnia, and paraesthesias of the extremities.
