Infectious pericarditis
**Definition:** A disease of the pericardium, caused by a secondary infection with a bacterial, viral, or fungal source. This disease is characterised by fever, odynophagia, cough, fatigue, or chest pain. Confirmation is by identification of the bacterial, viral, or fungal agent in a blood sample.
