Hypersensitivity myocarditis
**Definition:** Hypersensitivity myocarditis is the presence of dilated cardiomyopathy in association with a known related disorder (hypereosinophilic syndrome (usually a restrictive cardiomyopathy), Churg-Strauss syndrome, malignancy, parasite infection, drugs, or vaccines) and findings of interstitial lymphocytic and eosinophilic infiltration, giant cell, and possible myocardial necrosis on biopsy, usually with peripheral eosinophilia.
