Non-atherosclerotic chronic arterial occlusive disease

**Definition:** A heterogeneous group of disorders which may present with symptoms suggestive of atherosclerotic peripheral arterial disease (e.g. intermittent claudication) but in which arterial or arteriolar occlusion is due to other causes such as fibromuscular dysplasia, thromboarteritis obliterans and calcific arteriolopathy.
