Lymphoedema due to lymphatic filariasis
**Definition:** Lymphoedema resulting from infestation of lymphatics by nematode worms of the genera Wuchereria and Brugia. This is the commonest cause of lymphoedema worldwide. The lymphoedema may present years after initial infection and most commonly affects the legs and male genitalia.
