Lymphoedema due to podoconiosis

**Definition:** Lymphoedema of the lower limbs resulting from an inflammatory response within lymphatic vessels to mineral particles from soil in genetically susceptible individuals. It is a leading cause of lower limb lymphoedema in farmers in Africa, Central America and India.
