Diverticular disease of intestine
**Definition:** Diverticula are a major burden of illness in an aging population, presenting with bleeding or in form of a diverticulitis. Many are asymptomatic. Most diverticula (pseudodiverticula) occur in the colon, occurrence in the small intestine is also possible, but less frequent.
**Exclusions:** - Gastric diverticulum - Diverticulum of oesophagus, acquired - Meckel diverticulum
