Gender incongruence

**Definition:** Gender incongruence is characterised by a marked and persistent incongruence between an individual’s experienced gender and the assigned sex. Gender variant behaviour and preferences alone are not a basis for assigning the diagnoses in this group.

**Exclusions:** - Paraphilic disorders
