**Definition:** A group of conditions of the mother which occur during the period of time from conception to delivery (pregnancy).

**Exclusions:** - Certain maternal diseases classifiable elsewhere but complicating pregnancy, childbirth or the puerperium - Maternal care related to the fetus, amniotic cavity or possible delivery problems - Maternal infectious diseases classifiable elsewhere but complicating pregnancy, childbirth or the puerperium
