Certain skin disorders attributable to bacterial infection
**Definition:** Disorders of the skin and/or subcutaneous tissues caused by bacteria which a) cause infection normally limited to the skin (e.g. erythrasma); b) characteristically involve the skin at the same time as other organs (e.g. syphilis); c) which may cause disease in the skin as well as in other organs (e.g. cutaneous tuberculosis) or d) which infect other organs but which may manifest in the skin as a result of release of toxins or other indirect mechanism (e.g. streptococcal toxic shock syndrome).
**Exclusions:** - Asymptomatic colonization of the skin by virulent or therapy resistant bacteria
