Cutaneous lupus erythematosus

**Definition:** Lupus erythematosus involving the skin. This ranges from acute cutaneous lupus as may accompany a flare of systemic lupus erythematosus to a variety of chronic forms which are in the majority of cases limited to the skin.

**Exclusions:** - Lupus vulgaris - Systemic lupus erythematosus
