Pneumonia due to Staphylococcus

**Definition:** A disease of the pulmonary system, caused by an infection with the gram-positive bacteria Staphylococcus. This disease is characterised by fever, cough, dyspnoea, and pulmonary abscesses.

**Long definition:** This is an inflammatory condition of the lung-affecting primarily the microscopic air sacs known as alveoli, due to a genus of Gram-positive bacteria known as Staphylococcus.
