Hypoplasminogenaemia

**Definition:** Severe hypoplasminogenaemia or type 1 plasminogen (plg) deficiency is a systemic disease characterised by markedly impaired extracellular fibrinolysis leading to the formation of ligneous (fibrin-rich) pseudomembranes on mucosae during wound healing.
