Intrasphincteric abscess
**Definition:** A condition of the intrasphincteric space, caused by an infection with a bacterial, viral, or fungal source. This condition is characterised by a focal accumulation of purulent material between the internal and external anal sphincter. Confirmation is commonly by ultrasonography or advanced imaging.
