Abscess of liver
**Definition:** A condition of the liver, caused by an infection with a bacterial, viral, or fungal source. This condition is characterised by a focal accumulation of purulent material in the liver. This condition may present with fever, abdominal pain, or shock. Confirmation is by advanced imaging or ultrasonography.
**Exclusions:** - pylephlebitis without liver abscess
