Hereditary chronic pancreatitis

**Definition:** Hereditary chronic pancreatitis is a very rare form of childhood onset chronic pancreatitis. With the exception of an earlier onset and a slower progression the clinical course, the morphological features and laboratory findings of HCP do not differ from those present in patients with alcoholic chronic pancreatitis.
