Infectious dermatitis
**Definition:** Infective dermatitis (infective eczematoid dermatitis) is an acute exudative dermatitis developing on normal skin surrounding a focus of suppurative infection. Such foci include infected wounds, suppurating sinuses and acute inflammatory fungal and/or bacterial infection of the toe clefts. The dermatitis may spread well beyond the skin directly affected by the suppuration.
