Calcific panniculitis
**Definition:** Calcific panniculitis presents as discrete, firm subcutaneous masses, often affecting the thighs and hips. It is strongly associated with hyperparathyroidism, particularly in the context of chronic renal failure. It may occur in conjunction with but is clinically distinct from calcific arteriolopathy (calciphylaxis).
