Mucocutaneous or cutaneous pain syndromes
**Definition:** A range of chronic focal pain disorders affecting skin or mucosal sites, with a predilection for the orocervical and urogenital regions. They are diagnoses of exclusion and should be made only when no other explanation for the symptoms can be found. They are frequently associated with severe psychological distress.
