Artefactual skin disorder
**Definition:** Artefactual skin disorder encompasses a diverse range of self-inflicted skin injuries that are provoked by mechanical means or by the application or injection of chemical irritants or caustics. They may simulate other dermatoses but usually have a distinctive, geometric, bizarre configuration which cannot be otherwise explained.
**Inclusions:** - Dermatitis artefacta
**Exclusions:** - Excoriation disorder - Factitious disorders - Malingering
