Acneiform reactions to halogenated aromatic hydrocarbons

**Definition:** Acne caused by exposure to halogenated hydrocarbons such as chlorinated naphthalene, dioxins and dibenzofurans. Numerous comedones and noninflammatory cysts are a common feature. The course is often chronic. Frequently affected body parts are the face, neck, axillae and groin area.
