Tattoos or tattoo reactions of skin

**Definition:** Tattoos are the result of injection into the skin of insoluble coloured pigments as ornamentation of the body, or of inert materials such as coal dust as a result of superficial trauma or blast injury. They may provoke both allergic and foreign body reactions.
